How to check out a DCSS learning device for 2023-24?

Step 1:
A Douglas County School System learning device user agreement form must be completed before a student receives a learning device.
Step 2: The district has a $25 Student Technology Fee per device to cover the cost of possible damage and replacement as well as regular annual refurbishment.
Parents/Guardians, please digital sign the agreement by completing the form on this link: DCSS Learning Device User Agreement Link
(After you submit the User Agreement you will see a link to complete payment.)

Step 3: Bring receipt of payment to the media center staff to receive the device between 8:00 am - 2:00 pm.  Steps 1 and 2 must be completed before you arrive to pick up your device. (All devices are required to be returned at the end of the 2023-24 school year.)

The Douglas County School System (DCSS) is committed to our mission, vision, and goals and to providing the resources and support necessary for student and teacher success.

DCSS believes that to succeed in the 21st century and compete in a global community, students must be:

  • digitally literate;
  • strong critical-thinkers;
  • strong problem-solvers;
  • able to collaborate;
  • connected to the world around them.
The one-to-one technology initiative provides students with individual learning devices so they may develop these skills in the classroom and practice them outside of the classroom. Enhanced, authentic learning experiences facilitated by digital learning platforms create new opportunities for students to demonstrate mastery of state standards.

Our one-to-one technology initiative is being implemented to remove barriers for students’ ability to access instructional materials from school and home.
While digital devices serve to enhance learning experiences for all students, guidelines for use are essential to ensure safety and continuity of services. Parents/guardians and students are required to review and agree to the following requirements and guidelines:
  • DCSS Annual Technology Fee - $25
  • DCSS Student and Parent School Handbook
  • DCSS One-to-One Resource Guide
  • DCSS Terms and Conditions for Use of Individual Learning Device
  • DCSS Digital Citizenship pledge
