Lithia Springs Cross Country Coach Kendra Pleasants said her team is focused on making it to the state cross country meet. “We're looking forward to going to state this year and continuing to grow our program,” she said.
Top performers for the Lions include Hannah Ricon on the girls team and Eric Hightower, Isaiah Hatcher and Duran Bilak on the boys team.
Ricon, a junior, had the girls team’s top performance through the first part of the season with a run of 28:01.34 at the South Metro Classic. “I think this season is going to go very, very great,” she said.
Bilak had the boys top performance with a 23:30.92 at the South Metro Classic.
Hightower, a senior, echoed the team goal of making it to state.
Hatcher, also a senior, added: “I feel like if we put in effort and hard work, I feel like we can go a long way.”
