GMAS EOC TESTS
The Georgia Milestones End-of-Course (EOC) Assessments are designed to measure student achievement on the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) in the subjects of 10th Gr. Lit, Algebra, US History and Biology.
The main purposes of these assessments are:
*Measure Student Achievement: They evaluate how well students have mastered the content and skills for a particular course.
*Inform Instruction: The results provide valuable data to teachers and schools to adjust instruction for students.
*Course Grade Component: The EOC assessment score is used as a portion of the student's final grade in the course, as indicated by the mention of assessments being administered in Algebra I, 10th Grade Literature, US History & Biology on the newsletter you're viewing, which are courses where EOCs are required.
*High School Graduation Requirement: In many cases, successfully passing or meeting a certain performance level on the EOC is a requirement for high school graduation in Georgia.
During the testing administration, electronic devices are not permitted. Students are not allowed to have the following electronic devices:
*Cell phones/Smartphones
*Smartwatch
*Airpods/Earbuds
*Recorders/Any recording devices
*Smart Glasses/Smart Glasses with Cameras
*Cameras
*Headphones
*Personal laptops (only school-issued chrome books are allowed for testing)
*IPads
Any electronic device that could allow students to view, record, access, retain, or transmit information will not be allowed. Improper use of these devices for any reasons will result in an invalidation of student scores. We will follow our procedure of collecting these items if students bring them to school, label them and hold securely until testing has been completed. Once testing concludes, and all testing materials have been accounted for and securely placed back into the testing room, the personal electronic devices will be returned to the students.
