Greatness Grows Here! 💛🖤

The momentum is building and the growth is real. With an overall average of 65.7% correct, nearly one-third of our students have already reached mastery. That’s not just progress that’s powerful progress.
More than 30% of Algebra I students achieved Proficient or Distinguished levels on the most recent Common Assessment clear evidence that high expectations and engaging, standards-aligned instruction are turning effort into achievement.
Our trajectory is upward.
Our energy is strong.
Our future is bright.
Because here, greatness grows here! #GreatnessGrowsHere ##DataDrivenSuccess

Taking time to read over the winter break isn’t just relaxing it strengthens vocabulary, builds critical thinking, and fuels creativity. Our students are choosing growth even when school is out, and that speaks volumes. Because when students take learning home with them, Greatness Grows Here.

Today, our Lithia Springs Boys Basketball Team stepped off the court and into the community for a special Community Service Day! We are grateful to Seven Springs Church and their youth program for welcoming us and allowing our players the opportunity to serve.
At LSHS, we believe greatness isn’t just built in the game — it’s built through leadership, character, and giving back. Thank you to our community partners for pouring into our students as they pour into others. 💛

Greatness isn’t an accident; it’s a habit! In Unit One, our daily focus on core U.S. History concepts resulted in an impressive 83.1% class average. Intentional instructional strategies allow us to address misconceptions the moment they arise, ensuring students stay on track and move forward with confidence.
Through consistent progress monitoring, we’ve identified high-mastery “bright spots” where the majority of our scholars are performing at peak levels. This ongoing commitment to meaningful feedback ensures that greatness isn’t just a goal — it’s our standard.
The foundation for EOC success isn’t being built later… it’s being built right now.

Smiles filled the halls as students spread joy by writing Kindness Grams to their favorite teachers and best friends. Each thoughtful note of appreciation and encouragement served as a powerful reminder that kindness truly matters.
What may seem like a small gesture made a lasting impact. Our students demonstrated that simple acts of care, gratitude, and positivity help build a stronger school community.
Because here at LSHS, kindness grows right alongside greatness.

Data isn’t just numbers it’s a roadmap. It tells the story of how our students are mastering complex Biology concepts and building true scientific confidence. We don’t just teach content; we bridge the gap.
From Beginning to Distinguished, every percentage point reflects growth. Every gain represents a student strengthening their understanding, sharpening their skills, and finding their voice in science.
That’s what growth looks like.
That’s what excellence feels like.
That’s why Greatness Grows Here.

🎉🏀 LSHS Retires Jersey of Basketball Legend Demeara Hinds
Demeara Hinds is a legend in Lithia Springs basketball. She capped her four-year career as the only player in the school's 50-year history with both 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds and then went on to play collegiately for five years at Wake Forest and another year at Clemson.
On Friday, the Lady Lions recognized Hinds by retiring her No. 25 jersey during a special ceremony.
"Demeara set the standard," said LSHS Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Mikey Jones. "She showed every girl who puts on that jersey that with hard work and discipline, you can go from our gym to the biggest stages in college basketball."
Hinds brought a dominant physical presence on both ends of the floor during her time playing center at Lithia. During her senior season, she averaged 13.1 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.6 steals. She posted a career-best 25 points and 22 rebounds in a victory over Banneker in 2020.
That same year, she led a team featuring three freshman starters to a state playoff win. She was named the Region Player of the Year and the Douglas County Sentinel Player of the Year.
Earlier in her career, she played a pivotal role in leading the Lady Lions to the 2018 Region Championship, producing a dominant 10-point, 16-rebound performance to secure only the second region title in program history.
She finished as the school's all-time rebound and shot block leader with 42 career double-doubles in 106 games.
An exceptional student-athlete, Hinds graduated from the Lithia Springs STEM magnet program with a 3.6 GPA.
