Lithia Springs High School proudly salutes Robin Thompson, Ed.S., as the DCSS Digital Trailblazer of the Month for September. An outstanding English Language Arts teacher, Ms. Thompson blends technology seamlessly into her lessons—using tools like Gamma, Canva, and NotebookLM to make learning interactive and engaging.
"Ms. Thompson is an amazing educator," said Principal Felicia Jones. "She brings innovation to the classroom and inspires students to think critically, communicate effectively, and build digital literacy."
Beyond teaching, she leads the ELA department with clarity and empathy, guiding peers in weekly PLCs and district-wide professional development. Her dedication continues this fall as she presents at GAETC 2025 on using NotebookLM in ELA instruction. Thompson is more than a teacher, she's a true trailblazer who uplifts both students and staff through her passion for teaching and technology.

Congratulations to Mrs. Stephanie Carr, who has been selected to participate in the prestigious Silent Heroes Research Project, a partnership between the National History Day Program and the American Battle Monuments Commission. As part of this honor, Mrs. Carr will conduct extensive research on a Vietnam War soldier who was killed in action and never returned home. Her work will be published in the summer of 2026 by the American Battle Monuments Commission, ensuring that this soldier’s sacrifice is remembered for generations to come.
Beyond honoring our nation’s history, Mrs. Carr plans to use this experience to inspire her students by modeling the skills of historical research and analysis. Her goal is to empower history students and National History Day participants with strategies that bring the past to life through meaningful inquiry and discovery.

From bare soil patches to the first signs of mosses, weeds, and grasses, students observed how nature begins to reclaim and transform spaces. With time, these areas could grow into thriving habitats filled with shrubs, flowers, and even young trees.
By sketching, photographing, and collecting data, students brought textbook concepts to life—seeing firsthand how ecosystems develop and change over time. A great day of science in the field!
